OUR GALLERY FOLDERS

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 23, 2010, 6:44 AM

newly submitted skins to our gallery can be found in here as well as skins that deserve your attention for a closer look and examination and which sometimes are picked by the group-admins.

a basic album cover and some trackinfos, perhaps slightly spiced up with a frame, glossy coveroverlay or some simple functional elements is a good example for a minimalistic skin.

minimalistic can be a lot things.
nothing too fancy tho ... well, you know it.

these are skins that span the entire desktop like a regular wallpaper and make CD Art Display a fullscreen experience.

Ports are skins that were originally created for other apps such as AveTunes, Bowtie, Xion etc. and then were ported over to be used with CD Art Display.
Ports are often created by using the graphics of another (original) artist.

credits to each and everyone of them.

every skin in the VS-related gallery has got a matching Visual Style (VS), LiteStep or WindowBlinds theme available for download somewhere here on deviantART or elsewhere in the www.

the name says it all:

.. Player-like skins combine many skin elements (i.e. tool-, progress-, volumebar, ratings etc.) in one single interface which resembles of course a regular media player.

a "Freshman" is what we'd usually call someone who is new to something ..
.. someone who is making his/her first steps in designing and/or creating graphics or who is new to CD Art Display in general.

so, "Freshman" Work can be considered a very first skin of a skinner or skins that still reside in some sort of a beginner-state in terms of their overall look and feel.

extraordinary is what we'd usually call a skin which doesn't really fit any other category except for being something far from the average.
extraordinary skins are unique in style and concept and are unlikely to be seen anywhere else before.

hmm, .. what's a Notifier?

.. basically that's a skin that shows basic trackinfos and a cover on a banner-like background.
winamp's "toaster" is a good example for a Notifier.

Browse Folder

by no means misc. can be compared to average, mediocre or even boring.

miscellaneous skins simply wouldn't fit in any of our other skin categories and are listed in here as long as we don't have a better matching category.

in here you can find anything CAD related that's not actually a skin.

here you can find all the skins that have been featured as "Skin of the month" on our main page.

How do you make the text big like that?

it's a div-class for "headings" and can be altered in the blog css.
for artist's comments and journals you can also try using these:
  • <h1>your text here</h1> or
  • <h2>your text here</h2> or
  • <h3>your text here</h3>

unfortunately these won't work in regular comments, tho.

according to ~cjborodin everything should look fine if viewed in screen-resolutions equal or above 1280x800 now. meaning: the preview thumbs for our gallery folders on our group's main page won't get cut off on one side anymore.

i'm working on a fix to prevent the thumbs from being cut off if viewed in smaller screen resolutions. it might take some time, tho. so, please be patient. :)
